From early formative years growing up in rural Somerset, UK, Jennifer Robertson drew, painted, learnt to sew and hiked in the Mendip hills and Snowdonia. During this time the roots for her current practice were deeply formed - exploring the relationship between nature, culture, materiality and humanity. Whilst an undergraduate Hons textile student at West Surrey College of Art & Design, Jennifer was introduced to weaving with a farm to table project, encountering a raw sheep fleece. Deeply drawn to weaving with a harmonious, complex blend of artistry with technique, Jennifer saw rich potential for innovation with tradition.
